Helping Entrepreneurial Vets & Their Families Start Up

Reboot Recap
Veterans have the character, discipline, and skills needed to succeed as small business owners and entrepreneurs. Boots to Business: REBOOT is designed to help makes their dreams of business ownership a reality.

Last month, Pathway WBC welcomed Renee Bobb, a Veteran and entrepreneur, to lead our first Boots to Business Reboot business training program. Renee provided participants an overview of business ownership as a career vocation, an outline and knowledge of the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition, and an introduction to available public and private resources.

This course is designed for Veterans of all eras, Service Members (including National Guard and Reserves) and their families. We’ll be offering REBOOT again on January 23, 2016.

The goal of REBOOT is to help the men and women who have served in the military leverage the skills they’ve learned serving our country and learn those skills that the military doesn’t teach to start and lead successful businesses. Led by a Vet, REBOOT creates a safe learning environment where this process is laid out step-by-step.

Everything was set out for us,” said SSG Justin McLachlan (Army National Guard), “The guest speakers were experts in their fields and we received materials in digital and hard copy formats, making it easy for me to refer to after the course ended.  REBOOT is a really valuable resource for Veterans, and I would definitely recommend it to others thinking about starting a business.”

The focus of REBOOT is to give veterans and their spouses the tools necessary for taking the first step in business ownership. All the resources are pulled for them, so there is no wasted time. The streamlined process also helps Vets get to their specific entrepreneurial goals. By the end of the program, each participant leaves with a plan of action to take them from the classroom toward business ownership.

Pathway WBC will offer Boots to Business: Reboot on January 23, 2016 from 8:30am – 4:30pm. This program is free of charge, and all Veterans and their families with entrepreneurial aspirations are encouraged to attend.
