Pathway WBC Cohort Details

What is a cohort?

A cohort is group of people who move through the same course sequence at the same time. This group becomes your biggest champions and most honest critics. They’re the team you’ll learn from and grow with.

You’ll meet on the first day and be with that same group for the duration of your cohort. You collectively begin and end your cohort as a peer group, creating dynamic conversations and accountability.

We’ve outlined each cohort below with details on eligibility, pricing, and schedules for the 2018 Pathway WBC Cohorts. If you’re ready to apply click here to complete our application.

Current Pathway WBC Cohorts:

“I have an idea for a business, but I’m not sure where to start.”


  • I don’t have a business plan
  • I’ve been selling a product or service but I have not formally organized my business
  • I am thinking through a new business concept or about purchasing a business
  • I think I want to be an entrepreneur, but I am not sure what that involves

Description: Seven-week course (2-hour classes on weeknights) plus three hours of one-on-one coaching


  • Definition of your business idea and the value you provide to customers
  • Basic understanding of what it takes to run a business, including financial and business terminology
  • Understanding of how to conduct basic market research for your service or product and create a customer persona
  • A basic understanding of how to create a profit and loss statement for your business

Schedule: Discover Cohort classes are evenings from 6pm-8pm as follows:

  • Discover 4: Tuesday, February 6 through Tuesday, March 20
  • Discover 5: Thursday, March 8 through Thursday, April 19
  • Discover 6: Tuesday, June 5 through Tuesday, July 24 (week 5 skips July 3 and meets on July 10)
  • Discover 7: Tuesday, September 25 through Tuesday, November 13 (skips November 6 for election day)

Investment: $200

Registration: Registration is done in person or over the phone with Pathway WBC staff after you attend a Blue Sky workshop.

  • I’m already selling a product or service, or will be within the next few months
  • I have tested the idea and want to put this to paper and start making money
  • I have a business, but I need a formalized business plan so I can make projections, plan ahead, and access capital

Description: Seven-week course (2 hour class on weeknights) plus three hours of Professional Mentoring. Includes a six-month subscription to LivePlan software and some out-of-class assistance.


  • Deeper understanding of your business and the ability to present your business model with confidence to potential investors
  • LivePlan account for your business (good for 6 months from first day of cohort)*
  • Complete business plan (narrative)
  • Comprehensive business model (forecasting)
  • Pitch deck
  • Option for QuickBooks integration with LivePlan account
  • Three LivePlan books (2 eBooks, 1 hard copy)
    *LivePlan is cloud-based software, so basic computer skills and internet access outside of class time are required

Schedule: Embark cohort classes are on Thursday evenings from 6pm-8pm as follows:

  • Embark 4: Thursday, February 8 through Thursday, March 22
  • Embark 5: Tuesday, June 12 through Tuesday, July 31 (week 4 skips July 3 and meets on July 10)
  • Embark 6: Thursday, September 27 through Thursday, November 8

Investment: $450

Established entrepreneurs looking to address gaps in their business so they can take their business to the next level of success.


  • Project-based, in-depth professional mentoring using Ignite 360 programming


Schedule: The mentee and mentoring team will meet once a month for 6 months. The schedule is set in consultation with Pathway staff.

Investment: $2,400 for six months or $1,200 for three months (applicants complete a comprehensive needs assessment to determine your placement in the program).
